Here are 12 hospitals opening or expanding rehabilitation units and centers in 2024:

1. UCI Health and Lifepoint Rehabilitation broke ground on its joint inpatient rehabilitation hospital in Irvine, Calif., called the UCI Health Rehabilitation Hospital.
2. Madison, Wis.-based UW Health, Madison, Wis.-based UnityPoint Health-Meriter Hospital and Lifepoint Rehabilitation — a Brentwood, Tenn.-based Lifepoint Health business unit — have expanded their partnership to develop and operate a second freestanding inpatient rehabilitation hospital in Fitchburg, Wis. 
3. Jacksonville, Fla.-based Brooks Rehabilitation is working on a $26 million expansion that will add 36 beds and create 70 jobs at its Bartram campus.
4. Rogers-based Mercy Hospital Northwest Arkansas and Brentwood, Tenn.-based Lifepoint Rehabilitation partnered to operate Rogers (Ark.) Rehabilitation Hospital. 
5. Bethany (Okla.) Children’s Health Center debuted its $10 million renovation of its pediatric rehabilitation unit.
6. Clear Sky Rehabilitation Hospital of Lecanto (Fla.), a $30 million, 36-inpatient bed rehab hospital, completed construction.
7. Cross Hospitals, a partnership between Kennor Cross Hospital Investors and Nobis Hospital Investments, is planning to build an inpatient medical rehabilitation hospital in Albuquerque, N.M. 
8. Nashville, Tenn.-based Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt received $200,000 to help create an inpatient pediatric rehabilitation unit.
9. Mechanicsburg, Pa.-based CoxHealth and Select Medical Corp. are partnering to build an inpatient rehabilitation hospital in Missouri.
10. Cincinnati Rehabilitation Hospital at Blue Ash (Ohio) will hold a grand opening Feb. 6.
11. Mechanicsburg, Pa.-based Vibra Healthcare and Rapid City, S.D.-based Monument Health opened a rehabilitation hospital that provides both inpatient medical rehabilitation and long-term acute care.
12. Ludlow-based Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Western Massachusetts filed a $6 million proposal with the state to expand its hospital.
